Dr. Aboodi was born and raised in Tel Aviv, Israel, where he completed dental school at Tel Aviv University. He moved to Toronto from Tel Aviv in 2007, following wife, who he met in 2004 as dental students at a convention taking place in Vancouver!

Dr. Aboodi was involved in periodontal research in the field of resorbable membranes throughout his dental school training in Israel. During his first years in Toronto, he worked on clinical research projects at the University of Toronto, specifically focused on the role of inflammation in periodontal diseases. Dr. Aboodi’s interest in clinical periodontal research led him to pursue a combined PhD and Periodontal Specialty Program at the University of Toronto. His PhD research was on the subject of oxidative stress and antioxidants in periodontal diseases.

Currently, Dr. Aboodi enjoys being a clinical instructor at the University of Toronto and continues to be involved in periodontal research. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, and a member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, the Ontario Society of Periodontists, the Canadian Academy of Periodontology, the American Academy of Periodontology, and the Alpha Omega International Dental Fraternity – through which Dr. Heckler and Dr. Aboodi met.

Dr. Aboodi’s treatment philosophy is to provide you with personalized and effective multidisciplinary treatment. He focuses on treating your individual needs, and continually learning the most up-to-date surgical techniques to improve your care. Dr. Aboodi will make sure you understand your treatment, every step of the way.

Dr. Aboodi loves spending time with his wife and their children Noa, Jonathan and Maya. He enjoys reading (always has a book in his briefcase…), skiing and watching football.
